watch out! they are scammers, they accuse me of a defect in the car and they have charged me ? 200 when I was already in my country. They tell me that the car has two scratches on the wheel and they charge me 200 ?. Now they do not answer the complaint. Watch out for scammers.

DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!! I would walk across continents before stepping foot in this Avis again. A complete scam. AVOID. We rented a car for a 24 hour period at the Avis car rental on Rue Américaine 145 (Avis Autoverhuur Brussel Ixelles). It was the worst experience imaginable. We were told to "park anywhere on the street" when we returned the car. We ended up parking only a few meters away. The total charge was meant to be about 80 euro, but I received a charge on my credit card for 430 euro. And, a few months later, I received an additional charge for 60 euro for a parking fee. When I called the agency, the employee admitted that it was their fault the car wasn't located and we would be reimbursed for any charges above 80 euro. Long story short, and six months of countless of phone calls and emails later, the agency refused to rectify the situation.

I was already warned about Avis Ixelles, but had this time no other option then renting there a car. When getting the final bill after returning back a rental car, I have noticed that the desk officer added the fuel on the final bill even though the returned car was full. To my astonishment when I asked him why have you please charged and how can you do such a mistake, he said we don't really control the fuel level. When he felt that he said what he shouldn't say, the desk officer said it is a problem coming from the system. So he tried to milk and I wonder how many people paid while they shouldn't. What a shame?. I can only advise you, just avoid Avis Ixelles. Same Avis but elsewhere is cheaper.
